Loose rugs are vacuumed, inspected for dye stability, pre-sprayed, agitated and extraction-rinsed in place where access allows — fringe and borders get slower, lighter passes.
Why we clean this way
Rugs see foot traffic without the cushion of underlay found in fitted carpet. Grit cuts fibres at the base. We dry-vacuum with the CV 30/1, apply wool-safe or synthetic-appropriate Prochem pre-spray, agitate with the Sebo DUO, then Puzzi-rinse so dyes are not overwetted and residue is extracted — especially important on thicker or shag piles.
How your clean works

Dry vacuum — Kärcher CV 30/1
We vacuum the rug face and fringes (fringe protected where needed) first to remove dry soil, hair, grit and dust before any moisture is used.
Why: Loose dirt removed upfront lets pre-spray work on the fibres and keeps extraction water cleaner.

Why: Prevents damage on antique, vegetable-dye or unstable rugs — we will advise if a specialist is more appropriate.
Prochem pre-spray (matched to fibre and soiling)
A Prochem pre-spray suited to rug fibre — wool, synthetic, shag or blended — and spill history is applied evenly and given dwell time to break down oils and sticky soils.
Why: Correct chemistry matters — the wrong product can leave residue, odour or damage on wool, synthetics or delicate weaves.

The Sebo DUO is worked through the carpet pile with extra care on borders and high-pile areas, helping the pre-spray reach into the yarns before rinsing.
Why: Mechanical agitation on pile is standard in professional carpet cleaning; it lifts embedded soil that spray alone cannot reach.

We rinse with a Prochem solution at the right pH for the rug material, using the Puzzi 10/2 and 30/1 head to spray, work lightly where needed, and vacuum dirty solution back out.
Why: Hot water extraction flushes suspended soil and detergent away. Fibres should feel rinsed, not sticky or soapy when dry.

After extraction, when fibres are clean and moisture-controlled, we can quote optional Prochem treatments. Nothing is applied unless you ask — we confirm each add-on before we use it.
Why: Finish treatments work best on a properly rinsed surface. Upsells are always optional and priced before application.
